The Cabinet of Ministers approved the creation of national restoration teams to eliminate the consequences of Russian shelling. Ukrzaliznytsia will coordinate the formation of the teams.

The Cabinet of Ministers supported the initiative of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development to create national restoration teams and approved the procedure for implementing this project. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba, UNN reports. The PromPolitInform portal informs.

“We are scaling up last year’s effective experience, when we attracted more than 2,000 specialists from all over Ukraine to eliminate the consequences of shelling in the capital,” he wrote.

National brigades will allow for the rapid deployment of qualified specialists, equipment and machinery from different regions to where they are most needed.

Attention will be focused on the restoration of heat, water and electricity supply facilities, water drainage, as well as residential buildings damaged as a result of Russian attacks.

The formation of brigades will be coordinated by Ukrzaliznytsia. They will include specialists from enterprises with experience in performing emergency restoration work.

In 2026, the project will be financed from the reserve fund of the state budget and local budgets.

“The new mechanism will significantly reduce the time for eliminating the consequences of attacks and strengthen the ability of communities to respond to emergencies,” Kuleba concludes.
