Yevhenii Khmara and Mykhailo Drapatiy have identified priorities for work: emphasis on long-range strikes and new technologies

Acting Minister of Defense Yevhenii Khmara held the first working meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy. The parties agreed on key areas of cooperation to strengthen the Defense Forces.

Acting Minister of Defense Yevhenii Khmara met with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy to coordinate further interaction between the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff. This is reported by Pravdatutnews, the PromPolitInform portal reports.

According to Khmara, the parties agreed to work together in the interests of the Ukrainian military and promptly resolve all working issues. He emphasized that the main goal is to increase the effectiveness of the Defense Forces and fulfill the tasks set by the President of Ukraine.

The main areas of work include the development of modern military technologies, providing units with long-range weapons, scaling up the deep strike, middle strike and ground robotic complexes programs, as well as preserving the lives of Ukrainian servicemen.

Separately, Khmara noted that one of the priorities remains the use of asymmetric solutions to transfer combat operations to the territory of Russia.

According to him, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff are already working on practical steps that, according to the plan, should strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities and bring closer the achievement of long-term peace on Ukrainian terms.
