Ukrainian military personnel now have the opportunity to order drones tailored to specific needs on the Brave1 Market marketplace. The new feature allows purchasing not only serial UAVs but also ordering custom systems with unique specifications for precise combat missions. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Defenders can submit a request specifying the required quantity, delivery timeframes, and over 17 tactical and technical parameters. Configurable characteristics include communication types, payload capacity, camera parameters, and flight duration.
The procurement procedure is fully automated and secured against subjective bias. The request is dispatched to potential suppliers, and the system evaluates proposals without disclosing participants’ identities. If tactical and technical specifications match across multiple applications, the system triggers automated bidding where the lowest price wins, after which the military unit signs a direct agreement with the manufacturer.
Product range and procurement rules
Even non-codified solutions can be ordered via the platform, increasing the flexibility of state procurement. Currently available technologies include FPV kamikaze drones, fiber-optic FPVs, and fixed-wing interceptors, with plans to expand the range to unmanned ground vehicles in the future.
Custom orders are currently executed exclusively using units’ own funds. All transaction stages are logged in the system, and cancelling a purchase requires formal justification. Developers have also implemented a grievance mechanism for both parties to the agreement.
The new feature was developed jointly with experts from the ‘Project 100’ initiative, which unites specialists from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine’s Change Support Office and the Defence Procurement Reform Project. Military procurement personnel can already create applications and test the system.
