Russian forces attacked warehouses and Red Cross facilities in Boryspil

The Russian army launched a strike on food warehouses and Red Cross infrastructure in Boryspil, Kyiv region. As a result of the massive night attack on the capital and the region, there are fatalities and casualties. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Serhii Koretskyi, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi reported that rescue units are currently extinguishing fires at the impact sites. The night shelling lasted for about nine hours, during which the rf used dozens of missiles and strike drones.

Consequences of the attack on civilian infrastructure

In addition to Boryspil, strikes were recorded on residential buildings and a children’s medical facility. In total, there are at least 13 fatalities in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, and the number of injured has reached 40 people.

The scale of destruction also covers the Odesa and Chernihiv regions, where civilian infrastructure was damaged. More than 460 SES rescuers and over a hundred units of special equipment are working across the country.

Elimination of the aftermath of the shelling

Due to the tragic events, August 21 has been declared a day of mourning in the capital. Besides the destruction, the massive rf attack resulted in power outages for consumers in Kyiv and six Ukrainian regions.
