The Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application has introduced a new paw-shaped icon to mark seats where passengers are traveling with pets. This update allows users to be aware of pet-related proximity when booking their tickets.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Іванна Пашкевич) citing Ukrzaliznytsia, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
A special icon appears directly on the carriage diagram next to the seat of a passenger who has purchased a ticket including pet transportation. This allows other travelers to decide their own travel preferences before paying for their ticket.
Choosing a seat considering neighbors
The function is activated automatically when a passenger adds a document for pet transportation during the booking process. The marking assists both pet owners looking for company and people who have allergies or wish to avoid proximity to animals for personal reasons.
The company notes that they implemented this change in response to numerous user requests. Currently, passengers report that the indicator is not yet available on all routes, and the carrier has not released an official list of routes where the function is active.
