Temporary traffic restrictions are being introduced in the city center of Kyiv and four districts. The measures will remain in effect from August 22 to 25, 2026, due to the arrival of foreign delegations. This was reported by Socportal, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The restrictions will apply within the Pecherskyi, Podilskyi, Solomianskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the capital. As reported by the State Security Administration of Ukraine, these measures are related to the implementation of safety protocols during visits by representatives of foreign states, parliaments, and international organizations.
Security measures during international visits
Although the exact list of streets where traffic will be restricted has not yet been released, drivers are urged to consider potential complications when planning their trips. Security measures are carried out in accordance with current legislation on state protection of government bodies and officials, as well as state protocols.
Experience from previous years
The period of these events coincides with the celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day, which is traditionally accompanied by active diplomatic visits. In previous years, prime ministers and official representatives from various partner countries, including the UK, the USA, Canada, and the Baltic states, arrived in Kyiv, requiring reinforced protocol and security measures in the city.
