About 120,000 consumers in the Chernihiv region are without electricity due to a technical failure in the NEC Ukrenergo grid. Energy workers have already begun repair work to restore power.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Катерина Коваль) citing Chernihivoblenergo, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The emergency situation led to a power outage for residents of Chernihiv, Slavutych, and nearby settlements in the Chernihiv district. Specialists identified a malfunction in the state company’s transmission networks.

Personnel from the distribution system operator are working to eliminate the consequences of the failure. According to the company’s estimates, the total number of affected subscribers reaches 120,000.
The current situation in the region’s energy system remains difficult due to previous incidents. Previously, on August 20, large-scale outages were already recorded in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, where about 200,000 consumers were left without power.
The region has repeatedly suffered infrastructure damage as a result of hostilities. In particular, on August 17, Russian strikes damaged energy facilities in the regional center, and in early August, the city was the target of a massive drone attack.
