Minister of Defence Discussed Defence Financing and Air Defence Strengthening with German Foreign Minister

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Yevhen Khmara met with Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Johann Wadephul. The parties discussed funding for Ukrainian defence, strengthening air defence capabilities, and launching joint projects. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

During the talks, the Ukrainian side expressed hope that Berlin would maintain its leading role in providing financial support for the defence sector. The head of the ministry emphasized that German assistance directly impacts the safety of military personnel on the frontline and civilians in cities.

A key focus of the negotiations was the strengthening of air defence assets. The parties reviewed current and future measures to protect the population and critical infrastructure facilities from russian air attacks.

Development of Joint Defence Projects

The officials paid special attention to developing new joint initiatives within the defence industry. The Ukrainian side noted its readiness to share accumulated combat experience to enhance the defence potential of both nations.

“We will expand mutually beneficial cooperation that will strengthen both Ukraine and Germany,” stated Minister of Defence of Ukraine Yevhen Khmara.
