Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Lars Lokke Rasmussen confirmed further financial and military aid to Ukraine during a UN Security Council meeting. The country advocates for increased international pressure on the russian federation to end military operations. This was reported by Ukrinform, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Lars Lokke Rasmussen, presiding over the UN Security Council meeting dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day, emphasized the steadfast position of Copenhagen and its European partners. According to the diplomat, the joint support for Kyiv remains unchanged.
New pressure measures against moscow
The minister informed about the European Union’s adoption of a new package of sanctions aimed at the russian economy. He stated that the goal of these restrictions is to force the Kremlin to change its course and begin a genuine negotiation process.
The Danish Foreign Minister highlighted that there are no alternatives to sanctions pressure as long as hostilities continue. The official called on the russian side to immediately cease fire and establish peaceful relations with neighboring states. More than 50 UN member states have previously expressed a similar stance.
