USA transition to the “final phase” of financial pressure on Iran

The United States is preparing a large-scale economic campaign against Tehran intended to deprive the Iranian government of funding sources. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described these measures as the largest financial offensive in history against an adversary. This was reported by UkrRudProm, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

According to the US Treasury chief, Washington intends to block all financial channels that allow the current Iranian leadership to maintain power. Scott Bessent compared the upcoming operation to the Allied landings in Normandy, known as “D-Day”.

The official claims that President Donald Trump has already caused critical damage to Iran’s military potential. Specifically, he cited the near-total destruction of defense enterprises and the effective termination of the country’s nuclear program.

Back on August 19, Donald Trump officially announced an upcoming economic strike. He also warned of serious consequences for any state that provides support to Tehran.

Scott Bessent is expected to reveal a detailed plan for the new measures during a press conference. Washington is expected to deploy additional levers of influence to permanently isolate the Iranian regime from global financial flows.
