Figure of the day: 6.21 billion UAH raised by the Ministry of Finance at the latest VGSB OF UKRAINE auction

At the latest auction for the placement of internal government bonds (VGSB OF UKRAINE), 6.21 billion UAH was raised for the state budget. The funds were obtained from the sale of hryvnia-denominated instruments with various maturity dates. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

The largest volume of funds came from the sale of bonds with a three-and-a-half-year maturity period. This instrument brought 4.996 billion UAH to the budget at a yield of 16.47% per annum.

Securities with a one-year term ensured receipts of 1.014 billion UAH at 15.17% per annum. At the same time, two-year bonds with a yield of 15.63% per annum allowed for an additional 197 million UAH to be raised.

The scale of borrowing numbers is impressive

Since the beginning of 2026, the state has accumulated more than 328.31 billion UAH through the mechanism of domestic borrowing. The total figure of funds raised since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by the russian federation has reached 2.35 trillion UAH.

All resources obtained from the placement of military bonds are directed toward the financial support of the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Funds are also directed toward maintaining the stability of the state’s financial system under martial law.

Auctions for the sale of VGSB are conducted by the Ministry of Finance on a regular basis every Tuesday. The nominal value of one security is 1,000 units in the relevant currency – hryvnia, US dollars, or euros.
