Ukraine has called on international partners to synchronise sanctions against identified Russian companies producing ballistic weapons. The list includes more than 100 such enterprises. This was reported by Ukrinform, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk presented a plan to counter the Russian military-industrial complex during a press conference in Kyiv. The document provides for the application of restrictions to all identified manufacturers of ballistic systems, with files already handed over to allies for consideration.
According to Ukrainian estimates, the inclusion of these companies in sanctions lists should take place in September-October 2026. The strategy also includes “kinetic sanctions,” which involve kinetic strikes on strategic objects of the enemy’s defense sector, such as the Kamensky Combine, which specializes in the production of missile fuel components.
Combating foreign component supplies
Analysis of debris from Russian missiles, including Iskander-M and S-400 systems, confirms the continued use of foreign electronics. Critical components such as Kometa satellite navigation systems and inertial guidance systems are equipped with parts from the US, Japan, Germany, Taiwan, France, the UK, and Switzerland.
Ukraine insists on implementing strict export controls, including a complete ban on the export of sensitive goods to third countries that help russia bypass sanctions. In addition to microelectronics, a list of more than 10 critical materials has been compiled, including ammonium perchlorate and tungsten, as well as metalworking machine tools necessary for the aggressor.
Cooperation with the European Union
Vladyslav Vlasiuk noted that Brussels has begun preparing its 22nd sanctions package, but Kyiv is urging them not to wait for the finalization of that document. Ukrainian experts are proposing that the EU adopt interim, targeted decisions as early as September and October of this year.
This step-by-step approach, according to the Commissioner, is already effectively used by Ukraine, the UK, and Canada. Increasing the number of sanctions steps should significantly weaken russia’s ability to maintain stable production rates of ballistic weaponry.
