Eight houses were damaged in the Bucha district due to the detonation of materials
The Prosecutor General's Office has launched an investigation into acts of aggressive war and official negligence following an enemy attack in the Kyiv region on August 28. The incident resulted in five people being injured and caused significant damage to civil infrastructure. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
Criminal proceedings have been opened under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: regarding the conduct of an aggressive war and potential official negligence. Investigative actions began after events in the Bucha district, where an enemy drone struck an industrial facility in the village of Myla on the evening of August 28.
The strike caused a large-scale fire accompanied by the detonation of explosive materials. State Emergency Service units worked at the scene to contain the fire and address the aftermath of the blaze.
Damage and status of the injured
Five civilians were injured as a result of the explosions. Residential housing suffered significant damage: one private house was completely destroyed, and seven other households sustained various degrees of damage.
In addition to the private sector, the infrastructure of a nursing home for the elderly was impacted. Firefighting equipment involved in the emergency response was also damaged by the fire.
Inspection of enterprise operations
As part of the investigation, law enforcement must determine not only the circumstances of the Russian strike but also the reasons why the consequences of the attack were so severe. Primary focus will be placed on the legality of storing explosive items at the enterprise’s site.
Prosecutors will verify the existence of all necessary permits and approvals for storing such materials at this location. A legal assessment will also be provided for the actions of officials responsible for ensuring safety standards at the facility.
