The native of the Kirov region served in the SOBR unit in the occupied territory
Ukrainian military forces have eliminated 54-year-old Rosgvardiya lieutenant colonel Lyubov Ponamareva in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. The occupier was buried on August 27 in the Kirov region of the Russian Federation. This was reported by Glavcom citing Pro gorod Kirov, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
According to Russian sources, 54-year-old Lyubov Ponamareva arrived in the occupied territories of Ukraine from the Kirov region, where she previously worked as a teacher and in administrative bodies. Subsequently, she joined the internal affairs agencies of the Russian Federation, and in the occupied Kherson region, she held the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Special Rapid Response Unit (SOBR).
The funeral took place on August 27 in the settlement of Oparino, where she was originally from. According to the statements of the occupier’s relatives, her presence in the south of Ukraine was due to “work tasks.”
SOBR unit tasks
As analysts from Militarnyi note, SOBR units perform special purpose functions. In particular, these formations are used by the Russian side to identify and detain participants in the Ukrainian resistance movement in the occupied territories.
This is not the first case of the elimination of representatives of the occupying forces who hold a resonant status. Previously, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin at the front, who was a native of Udmurtia and a full namesake of the Russian literature classic. His funeral took place on August 21.
Among other eliminated occupiers was Nikolai Zanozin, known as a three-time world tap dance champion. Ukrainian forces continue the systematic destruction of the occupier’s army personnel across all sectors of the front.
