The company is working to minimize supply chain disruptions for Ukrainian consumers
On August 29, a Russian strike damaged a PepsiCo production site in the Mykolaiv region. No employees were injured, and the company is currently assessing the extent of the damage. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Валерія Абабіна) citing PepsiCo Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
In an official statement, the company emphasized that staff safety remains its top priority. At this stage, experts are assessing the scale of the destruction while developing logistics measures to restore product supplies to the Ukrainian market.
PepsiCo’s production base in the region consists of two specialized facilities for snacks and beverages. The output includes various well-known brands, such as Sandora and Sadochok juices, as well as carbonated soft drinks including Pepsi, 7UP, Mirinda, and Lipton Ice Tea.
Attacks on industrial facilities
This incident is part of a series of strikes by the russian federation targeting Ukrainian business entities. Over the past few days, production and logistics capacities of other major companies have also come under fire.
Specifically, on August 27–28, hostile strikes hit facilities belonging to the Epicentr retail chain, Nova Poshta logistics centers, and the Khortytsia distillery in Zaporizhzhia. Experts highlight the increasing risks to infrastructure essential for food security and industrial production in the country.
