The parties plan to implement joint projects in drones and cybersecurity
Ukraine and the Czech Republic are expanding their security partnership, focusing on joint defense initiatives. The discussion covered ammunition supplies, drone technology development, and energy infrastructure recovery. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from NSDC.
First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Serhii Naumenko discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation during a meeting with Pavel Fischer, chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security of the Czech Republic. The parties emphasized the importance of continuing artillery shell supplies under the Czech initiative.
Joint defense technologies
Significant attention during the talks was paid to prospective projects in the defense industry. In particular, the discussion included the development of interceptors, drone manufacturing, and the implementation of initiatives under the SAFE program. Ukraine proposed that Czechia join the Drone Deal initiative, which would allow the use of Ukrainian technological expertise.
Energy and cyber defense
Support for the Ukrainian energy sector ahead of the winter season became a separate block of the talks. In addition to assistance in restoring energy infrastructure, the participants reviewed the involvement of Czech business in long-term investment projects. The parties are also preparing for the official signing of a memorandum of understanding between the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center and the relevant Czech agency.
In conclusion, Serhii Naumenko noted that since February 2022, Czechia has provided military assistance worth more than 3 billion dollars. In the future, Kyiv plans to transform its interaction with Prague into the creation of joint ventures designed to strengthen the defense capabilities of both nations.
