Safety rules during air raids are being updated. How will the work of the metro, transport and schools change in Kyiv

Changes to the safety rules during air raids are being prepared in Kyiv. They concern the work of public transport and restrictions at night. The city authorities have received relevant instructions. This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, writes Chas Diy. The PromPolitInform portal informs.

The transport operation algorithms will be reviewed in the capital. The duration of the curfew will also change.

Currently, the curfew in Kyiv lasts from midnight to five in the morning. Other cities in Ukraine will also be offered to review the duration of night restrictions. Relevant decisions will be made taking into account security needs and the need for enterprises to operate.

The changes will affect the Kyiv metro. The operation of the subway will depend on the implemented air alert levels. The yellow level will mean a threat from drones. The red level will indicate a missile threat or massive attacks. The Syretsko-Pechersk metro line will operate fully during the announcement of the yellow danger level. On the maps, this line is marked in green. The metro remains a reliable shelter for citizens. At night, they are allowed there without hindrance. You only need to show your passport to the police or the person on duty. They will not be allowed into the shelter without documents.

How buses will now run

Kyiv received a clear instruction from the president. Additional transport will be brought onto the streets. This is done for the convenience of passengers. People should not wait for hours near closed metro stations. We are talking about traffic stops on the Svyatoshynsko-Brovarska line during the announcement of alarms.

Special attention was paid to the red branch. The problem area stretches from the Lisova station to the Dnieper. Trains here leave for the surface and travel along the bridge. During the siren, this traffic freezes. Now the situation will change. The authorities will organize special bus services. They will completely repeat this section of the route. Kyiv residents will be able to safely cross to the other bank. The city government’s decision to stop ground transport during sirens has been in effect in Kyiv since August 1, 2022.

Changes in other areas

The President also commented on the work of educational institutions. Schools and kindergartens will operate without changes. The main task is to maintain a convenient learning format for each family.

The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to find money for bonuses for doctors and the development of clinics. This applies to state and municipal institutions.

Ukraine is also introducing a weekly audit of current threat response algorithms. Military structures and local authorities will be involved in this process. State-owned companies will also participate.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted: “At all levels in our state, there should be a timely update of life protection measures in accordance with the specific realities in cities and communities and the need to guarantee the operation of the economy and maintain social activity in our cities and communities.”

The main innovations for the capital include the following points:

Reduction of the curfew time.

Full operation of the Syretsko-Pechersk line at the yellow danger level.

More buses on the streets instead of closed subway stations.

Special flights over the bridge for passengers of the red line.

Preservation of current rules for the functioning of educational institutions.

Implementation of a weekly audit of threat response algorithms.
