In Bishkek, the Turkish leader discussed the war and the Black Sea with Putin
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his country's readiness to facilitate a speedy end to the Russian-Ukrainian war. He stated this after talks with Putin in Bishkek, emphasizing the importance of establishing peace. This was reported by Ukrinform citing TRT Haber, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Recent talks in Bishkek covered a number of pressing topics, including bilateral ties and the issue of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems. The parties paid special attention to stability in the Black Sea region, where shipping requires reliable protection.
The Turkish leader stressed the need to create a permanent mechanism to ensure the safety of merchant vessels in the Black Sea waters. According to him, the current confrontation has brought no positive consequences either to the participating states or to the global community.
«The earliest peaceful conclusion of the war between Russia and Ukraine is an expectation of both ours and Mr. Putin’s», — said Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
He added that the Russian side allegedly also strives for a successful resolution of the conflict. Ankara is determined to do everything possible to achieve sustainable peace, considering it the only path to victory.
During the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, informal communication took place involving the President of Turkey, Putin, and Alexander Lukashenko.
