Funds will cover monthly payments and support for families of fallen and wounded soldiers
The Ukrainian government has redistributed reserve funds from the security and defense sector, directing 33.6 billion hryvnias to ensure payments for service members. This funding will allow for timely processing of September payments. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Сергій Козачук), according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Out of the total allocated amount, 25.9 billion hryvnias are designated for the monthly pay of Armed Forces of Ukraine personnel for September. The remaining 7.7 billion hryvnias are allocated for one-time financial aid programs for defenders who sustained disabilities or loss of work capacity, as well as for the families of fallen heroes.
Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi emphasized that fulfilling obligations to Defense Forces personnel and ensuring social protection for their families remains a key priority for the executive branch. Simultaneously, the government continues efforts to supply the army with necessary weaponry.
Budget stabilization and international assistance
The head of government also called upon Cabinet members and members of the Verkhovna Rada to expedite decision-making to stabilize state finances. According to Serhiy Koretskyi, intensifying legislative work is critical for securing foreign financial support.
The passage of urgent legislation is currently viewed as the only effective tool for balancing the budget under conditions of prolonged martial law. Officials have been urged to focus on measures that guarantee uninterrupted funding for the security sector.
