The automatic review applies to most recipients, as well as households with a zero subsidy
In October, the Pension Fund of Ukraine will begin an automatic recalculation of housing subsidies for the 2026-2027 heating period. For the majority of recipients, the procedure will be carried out without the need for additional contact with the Fund's offices. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from Pension Fund of Ukraine.
The updated calculation will apply to households that received payments during the non-heating season, including those whose assistance amount was at zero at that time. State support for the heating period covers the term from October 16 to April 15 inclusive, as provided for by the Regulations on the procedure for granting housing subsidies.
Individual approach to accruals
The amount of the subsidy for each family is determined personally based on a number of factors. The criteria include the total number of people in the household, their official income, as well as the list and cost of housing and utility services used by the citizens.
To determine the income level when calculating aid for the 2026-2027 season, the agency analyzes financial indicators for the first and second quarters of the current year. Regarding pension payments, the calculation takes into account the pension amount accrued for August 2026.
Mandatory submission of documents
Despite the automation of the process for most recipients, there are categories of citizens who must apply for re-appointment on their own. This primarily concerns those who plan to receive a subsidy for the first time, as well as households where there have been changes in the number of registered persons or family composition after October 1.
Additionally, those who previously did not receive a subsidy for the non-heating period due to utility debt must submit a new application, provided that the debt has since been successfully paid off, restructured, or the matter has been challenged in court. Furthermore, individuals whose list of received housing and utility services has changed should also apply for the appointment independently.
