Eligibility requires turning 70 and having a pension under UAH 10,340
Citizens born in 1956 are eligible for additional monthly age-based compensatory payments upon turning 70. The allowance is granted automatically without requiring an application. The main prerequisite is that the total pension payment must not exceed UAH 10,340.35. This was reported by Glavcom citing Pension Fund of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The age-based supplement is available to several categories of citizens reaching the ages of 70, 75, or 80. The first group includes individuals born in 1956, the second group comprises those born in 1951, and the oldest category consists of people born in 1946.
Monthly compensation amounts vary by age threshold. Citizens aged 70 to 75 receive up to UAH 300, those aged 75 to 80 receive up to UAH 456, and individuals over 80 are paid up to UAH 570.
Maximum Pension Cap Limits
A mandatory condition for receiving the supplement is that the total pension amount, including the top-up, must not exceed UAH 10,340.35. If the total payment exceeds this threshold, the compensatory supplement is not added.
Recalculation of supplements occurs automatically once a pensioner reaches the next age milestone. No additional paperwork or personal visits to offices are required.
Options to Increase Pension Benefits
Citizens can independently increase their final pension amount by deferring retirement after reaching eligible age. Deferring for one year increases the base amount by 6%, deferring for two years increases it by 12%, and a five-year deferral grants a 30% increase.
If retirement is deferred by more than 60 months, an additional 0.75% is added to the pension amount for each subsequent full month of working service.
