Program participants receive 2,000 hryvnias for medical examinations
Ukrainian citizens who received 2,000 hryvnias under the national ‘Health Screening 40+’ program must use the funds within two months of enrollment. If the funds remain unused within the specified period, they will be automatically returned to the state budget. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Тетяна Веремєєва) citing the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
State support is provided for undergoing a preventive medical examination. Once the funds are credited to a special card, citizens are advised not to delay, but to select a partner medical institution and schedule an appointment so that the funding does not revert to the state.
Key features of the medical examination
The national program launched on January 1, 2026, and is designed for all Ukrainians aged 40 and older. The place of registration or actual residence of a citizen does not affect their eligibility to participate in the initiative. The primary goal of the project is to assess key health risks.
In particular, doctors help identify risks of cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and assess overall mental health. The comprehensive check-up is designed so that a patient can undergo all procedures during a single visit to a clinic.
The medical examination includes measuring body parameters, blood pressure, and heart rate. Specialists also conduct lifestyle surveys and laboratory tests to evaluate kidney, vascular, and heart functions. Experts urge citizens to undergo diagnostics even in the absence of visible symptoms or health complaints.
Program geography and statistics
The medical examination can be completed in institutions of various ownership types that have joined the program, including state, municipal, and private clinics. In total, the service is available at 2,757 locations across the country.
Since the launch of the initiative, more than 751,000 citizens have undergone the medical examination. Meanwhile, the number of applications for financial assistance has exceeded 1.9 million. The total amount of funds allocated by the state for payments under this program has already surpassed 2.1 billion hryvnias.
A special ‘Diia.Card’ is used to finance the service. The allocated 2,000 hryvnias have a targeted purpose and can be spent exclusively on paying for services at medical institutions participating in the project.
