An enemy strike in Pryluky killed 19 people, including children
Russia is using its aggression against Ukraine as a testing ground for methods it plans to deploy against other nations in the future. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during his evening address on October 7, 2026. This was reported by Glavcom, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The head of state emphasized that Moscow is waging combat operations not only against Ukrainian territory but also against universal international norms. According to the president, the Russian leadership aims to destroy any rules in order to rely solely on the right of the strongest.
Massive strike and casualties in Pryluky
The statement was made amid a large-scale attack by Russia that resulted in 25 deaths, while about 100 civilians sustained injuries. Specifically, a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile hit a residential building in Pryluky, Chernihiv Region. Nineteen civilians were killed there, including five children, and rescue operations continued throughout the day.
Air defense operations
Over the course of the night, units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces shot down 44 cruise and ballistic missiles and suppressed 117 attack drones. Despite this, the enemy did not halt shelling during daytime hours either. The president stressed that the threat remains daily, meaning air defense batteries require a continuous replenishment of missile supplies.
Call for international support
The Ukrainian leader urged international partners to avoid standing aside and to increase the supply of weapons for sky protection. In his view, pressure on the aggressor is insufficient, as the Russian leadership still does not feel major problems due to the continuation of the war. The situation in Ukraine poses a threat to the security of the entire European and Western world.
