The convicted person coordinated Russian strikes on energy and railway infrastructure
A court in Kyiv has sentenced a 19-year-old Ukrainian woman to 15 years in prison for transmitting data to Russian intelligence services regarding critical infrastructure and the movement of military equipment. The defendant fully admitted her guilt to high treason committed under martial law. This was reported by Glavcom citing Київська обласна прокуратура, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
According to the investigation, the suspect established contact with a representative of the Russian Federation via the Telegram messenger. She agreed to perform tasks in the interest of the aggressor in exchange for monetary compensation.
In October 2025, the perpetrator filmed an electrical substation within the city of Kyiv and sent the footage to her handler. Subsequently, following his instructions, she traveled to the Odesa region, where she monitored the railway infrastructure. Specifically, she filmed a freight train in motion, including the coordinates and its direction of travel in her report.
In January 2026, the convicted woman set up an observation post in the Chernihiv region. To ensure continuous data transmission, she used a mobile phone connected to a power bank and installed specialized remote access software. This allowed her to organize a live stream of the movement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units and their military equipment.
During the court proceedings, the defendant did not deny her involvement in the crimes and pleaded guilty in full. Her actions were qualified under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court sentenced her to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of her property.
