Occupied Luhansk Hit by Massive Drone Attack: Power Outages Reported

A series of explosions thundered in the temporarily seized regional center

Temporarily occupied Luhansk was subjected to a massive drone attack on the night of October 9, resulting in power outages and fires in parts of the city. The raid lasted for several hours, and local residents heard loud explosions across various districts. This was reported by Glavcom citing the Telegram channel of Exilenova+, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The raid on the seized city began at night and continued for several hours straight. According to eyewitnesses, a large number of unmanned aerial vehicles were spotted in the sky above the settlement.

A series of loud explosions rocked different districts, after which several ignition points emerged across the city. Participants of monitoring platforms captured the consequences of the strikes on video materials distributed online.

Power Supply Disruptions

During the strikes, some residents of the temporarily occupied regional center were left without electricity. At the same time, specialized experts have not yet provided official confirmation as to whether the blackout was directly caused by the hits.

Information regarding specific targeted infrastructure facilities has not yet been made public. Data on the scale of destruction, as well as the presence of casualties or fatalities, is currently being clarified by relevant services.

Previous Strikes on the Region

The current attack fits into a series of regular incidents in the seized territories of the region. In particular, on the night of September 30, explosions were recorded in Brianka, where fires also broke out following the drone raid.

Similar raids on the invaders’ facilities in Luhansk Region were also recorded in the previous weeks of September. Back then, among other things, strikes hit the territory of the former border detachment and the Stroychenter shopping mall.
