Russian occupation authorities prepare mobilization measures in Crimea

The issuance of draft notices is already being recorded in the northern districts

The Russian occupation administration has begun preparations for forced mobilization in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. Despite public denials from Kremlin leadership, systematic signs of updating military registry data are being recorded on the peninsula. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Crimean Wind.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly emphasized that the RF has effectively initiated an additional mobilization campaign. In addition to Russian citizens, the occupiers are attempting to recruit foreigners into their armed forces, as well as residents of captured Ukrainian territories, specifically the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Luhansk regions.

Data collection methods

Preparations for mobilization on the peninsula became apparent as early as the summer period. Occupation bodies utilized compensation mechanisms for damages caused to energy infrastructure by accurate strikes from the Ukrainian Defense Forces. During the review of applications, door-to-door visits were conducted, allowing for the verification of data on military-age men residing in specific households.

A second instrument for updating military records involved the September State Duma elections. Following the completion of the election process, a significant increase in the information campaign aimed at recruiting contract soldiers for the Russian army was observed across the Crimean region.

Increasing pressure on the population

Eskender Bariiev, Chairman of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, recorded over ten incidents of draft notices being issued in the northern districts of the peninsula. Such activities by Russian security forces are forcing local residents to seek ways to leave occupied Crimea.

Representatives of the “Otpor” movement warn that the risk of forced mobilization is currently critical. Despite official statements claiming no plans for military recruitment this autumn, the practical actions of the occupation administration indicate a targeted effort to gather information for the purpose of replenishing the Russian army’s ranks at the expense of Crimean residents.
