Russia used Zircon missiles for attacks on Kyiv region

The military intercepted one of the two targets using the Patriot system

During an air attack on Saturday, Russian forces used two Zircon missiles against the Kyiv region and nearly a hundred jet drones across Ukraine. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Yurii Ihnat, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

According to Yurii Ihnat, one of the launched missiles was neutralized by the Patriot system, although the other target reached its destination. In addition to missile weaponry, the enemy carried out a massive raid with strike drones, most of which were successfully eliminated during the defense operations.

Geography of Russian attacks

The main drone strike was aimed at the capital of Ukraine from the northern direction. Russian aerial attack assets were also recorded from the southern and eastern regions, where cities close to the frontline are under constant threat.

The spokesperson noted that the intensity of the raids is no longer limited to nighttime but continues around the clock. Ukrainian units are utilizing all available resources, including aviation and foreign-made air defense systems, to minimize the impact of the attacks.

Shortage of interception assets

Despite the professional work of the military, there remains a tangible shortage of ammunition and anti-aircraft missiles in the defense sector. The Air Force command is conducting systematic work with international partners to secure the supply of necessary weaponry.

Obtaining additional missiles for aviation and air defense systems is critical for the protection of strategic facilities. Specialists continue to search for innovative solutions to help increase the destruction rate of enemy aerial targets 24/7.
