A woman illegally built a non-residential structure on military department land
In Rivne Region, law enforcement officers have completed an investigation into a 45-year-old resident of Orzhiv who illegally occupied defence lands. The suspect faces up to three years in prison for unlawful construction. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Rivne Oblast Police.
Law enforcement officials in Rivne Region have concluded a pre-trial investigation against a 45-year-old resident of the village of Orzhiv. The woman is accused of illegally seizing a land plot in the summer of 2018 that is under the jurisdiction of the Rivne Housing and Maintenance Department, without having any relevant permits.
Details of the illegal seizure
According to investigators, the area of the illegally occupied land plot is 0.0031 hectares. Between June and July of the same year, the individual constructed a single-storey non-residential building on the territory without any legal title documents.
These actions prevented the land from being used for its intended purpose. During the investigation, it was confirmed that the plot belongs to defence lands, which significantly exacerbates the offence.
Court proceedings
At present, investigative authorities have notified the woman of the suspicion of committing a crime. The indictment has already been sent to court for a legal decision.
Among the mitigating circumstances listed in the case files are the defendant’s sincere remorse and cooperation with the investigation. Despite this, the relevant article provides for a penalty of up to three years in prison.
