12 large oil refineries and five military-industrial complex facilities of the enemy were damaged
In September, the Defence Forces of Ukraine continued a campaign of long-range strikes against targets on Russian territory. Key fuel infrastructure, military airfields, bases, and drone storage facilities were among the targets. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, based on data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The long-range strike campaign aimed to weaken the enemy’s military potential by disrupting fuel supply chains and critical components for weapon production. Beyond oil refineries, the Defence Forces targeted Russian defense industry facilities, logistics hubs, and aviation bases.
Geography of strikes on fuel infrastructure
Throughout the month, 12 large oil refineries were hit. Affected facilities included sites in the Leningrad, Samara, Saratov, and Rostov regions, as well as in Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, and Perm Krai. Fuel oil storage tanks in Novorossiysk were also damaged as part of a strategy to reduce Russia’s financial capacity to fund military operations.
Attacks on weapon production and logistics
Strikes targeted five military-industrial complex plants involved in manufacturing components for Kh-59 missiles, air defense systems, and solid propellant for Iskander ballistic missiles. Specifically, production capacities in Taganrog, Ulyanovsk, Yefremov, and Voronezh were damaged. The Azov Optical-Mechanical Plant also came under fire.
Military assets and aviation
In September, successful strikes were conducted against the Novorossiysk naval base, where three vessels were damaged: the minesweeper Zheleznyakov, the frigate Admiral Essen, and the landing ship Petr Morgunov. Several aircraft were also disabled at the Rostov-on-Don (Central) airfield.
The enemy’s drone storage and launch network also suffered significant damage. In the Rostov and Oryol regions, launch pads, drone warehouses, and preparation areas were destroyed. Additionally, radar stations near Novoshakhtinsk and port infrastructure in Makhachkala were struck.
