The first structure in Hlevakha is designed to accommodate 29 people
In Kyiv Region, the installation of modular protective shelters has begun at railway stations. The first facility accommodating 29 people was installed in Hlevakha, with work also underway in Vyshneve and Brovary. This was reported by Delo.ua citing Tymur Tkachenko, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The structure erected in Hlevakha is a certified temporary protective facility that fully meets established technical standards. Its interior space is designed to shelter up to 29 passengers and railway personnel simultaneously.
The use of modular solutions allows for rapid installation without lengthy capital construction. Such units are deployed primarily where there is no access to permanent shelters, which is critical amid ongoing Russian attacks on railway hubs.
Installation in Brovary and Vyshneve
Similar installation work is currently underway directly on passenger platforms in the towns of Vyshneve and Brovary. These structures are expected to be fully ready for use in the near future.
Regional authorities, together with Ukrzaliznytsia and local communities, plan to expand the network further. The need for mobile security units remains urgent across multiple other stations and stops in the capital region.
Protection of Border Infrastructure
In parallel, a similar initiative is being rolled out nationwide for border areas. The government plans to deploy 135 mobile protective shelters near checkpoints.
These primary shelters are slated for installation across 28 functioning border crossing points as well as their access roads.
