Protective structures will be mounted at locations frequently targeted by Russian attacks
Mobile shelters will be installed at Ukrzaliznytsia stations in the Kyiv region to protect passengers. The project will be implemented through the joint efforts of regional authorities, the carrier, and territorial communities. This was reported by Glavcom, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The need for deploying additional protective structures is driven by systematic shelling of infrastructure by the russian federation. The head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, emphasized the importance of minimizing the time required for civilians to access shelter locations during air raids.
Implementation mechanism for security measures
The shelter installation process will be coordinated by the Kyiv Region Defense Council headquarters. Each location requires separate approval from the management of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia and the involvement of local territorial communities for effective infrastructure planning.
Tymur Tkachenko expressed his conviction that the active involvement of national companies in security processes will help optimize the pace of work. The authorities plan to continue and scale this practice to protect passengers using railway transport within the region.
Changes to the regional curfew
Parallel to the strengthening of security measures, the curfew schedule is being updated in the Kyiv region. Starting September 10, restrictions on the movement of citizens and transport operations will be in effect daily from 01:00 to 05:00.
This decision will reduce the curfew duration from five to four hours per day. Shifting the start time of the restrictions from 00:00 to 01:00 is an officially approved administrative correction to stabilize the region’s activities.
