DTEK Grids energy workers restore power supply to 1.9m homes within week of October 5–11, 2026

Networks repaired for 773.1 thousand consumers in the capital within a week

During the week of October 5 to October 11, 2026, DTEK Grids distribution system operators restored power supply to nearly 1.9 million Ukrainian families. The works were carried out in four regions and the city of Kyiv following damage caused by enemy missile and drone strikes. This was reported by DTEK Grids, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

Repair crews travel to sites to eliminate the consequences of shelling immediately after receiving the necessary permits from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service. Due to the intensification of enemy attacks on the domestic energy system, stabilization and emergency shutdown schedules had previously been applied in the capital and certain regions. Both distribution networks and high-voltage transmission lines of other energy companies sustained damage.

Large-scale restorations in Kyiv and Odesa region

The largest number of consumers during the specified period was connected in Kyiv, where power returned to 773.1 thousand homes. Odesa region became the second largest in terms of restoration works, with specialists energizing 451 thousand households of local residents. In Kyiv region, 386.4 thousand families affected by the latest waves of air strikes are receiving electricity again.

Situation in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions

The operational situation remains difficult in frontline regions due to their close proximity to the active combat zone. In Donetsk region, specialists restored power to 185.3 thousand homes, and in Dnipropetrovsk region to 86 thousand. In some settlements near the frontline, engineers had to restore damaged infrastructure dozens of times.

«Ahead of winter, the enemy is once again intensifying attacks on energy infrastructure. We continue to work despite the danger and are doing everything possible, and sometimes impossible, to quickly repair damage and maintain the energy system. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have restored power to over 58.8 million families in Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk region, Odesa region, Donetsk region, and the city of Kyiv. In some settlements close to the combat zone, we have brought back the light dozens of times», noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO of DTEK Grids.
