Strikes targeted locomotive depots, railway stations, and rolling stock
Russian invasion forces launched a series of strikes on railway facilities across Kharkiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Ternopil regions during the night of October 14. Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, reported this. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Enemy forces targeted repair enterprises, rolling stock, as well as freight and locomotive depots. The massive shelling impacted infrastructure assets simultaneously across five Ukrainian regions.
Infrastructure and station damage assessment
The nighttime assault caused substantial material losses and temporary power grid disruptions. Specialized crews immediately restored power supplies at the affected locations.
Traffic management and passenger safety
Train operations through the capital’s railway hub were temporarily halted due to ballistic missile threats. Afterwards, passenger trains that had been held for security reasons resumed their journeys.
Thanks to timely warnings and proper evacuation procedures, the incident resulted in no casualties or injuries. Railway workers began restoration efforts at the damaged sites starting early in the morning.
