Zelenskyy says Ukraine feels betrayed by US and loses strong partner

American administration is choosing the wrong side of history, the head of state noted

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an interview with journalist Piers Morgan that the country feels betrayed due to the loss of such a powerful ally as the United States. The head of state emphasized that Kyiv has no intention of selling its own country. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Сергій Козачук) citing Piers Morgan, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The Ukrainian leader emphasized that for our state, countering russian aggression is an existential question of survival rather than a commercial project.

“We are not selling our country. Listen, guys, for us this is not business. This is our lives. This is our country, our home, our home, our children,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Assessment of Donald Trump team actions

Assessing the position of the American leadership and its inner circle, the president expressed confidence that Washington is making the wrong choice.

“If you are in the middle, you must stay in the middle, and not on the wrong side. I think Trump’s advisers are wrong. I don’t know who is pushing him to the wrong side. This is not the right side of history,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.

Previous tensions in bilateral relations

Recently, bilateral contacts between Kyiv and Washington have been accompanied by a certain cooling and tension.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian state had already mentioned unpredictable situations in the dialogue with the United States and announced the discussion of two key topics, emphasizing the mismatch of such a level of interaction with the status of strategic partnership.

Russian attacks on energy infrastructure

Meanwhile, russian troops continue to strike peaceful cities and vital supply facilities.

Despite the so-called energy truce announced by US leader Donald Trump, russian occupiers carried out a massive attack with drones and ballistic missiles on the energy system, to which the Ukrainian side responded with sharp condemnation of the unprecedented disrespect from Moscow.
