Zelenskyy and Macron discussed countering Russian escalation and boosting aviation

France will deliver new support packages for Ukrainian aviation this month

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with French leader Emmanuel Macron regarding countering Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities. During the meeting, new packages for aviation and the receipt of all promised weapons manufacturing licenses were announced. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Ukrainian and French leaders focused on practical steps to protect critical infrastructure from air attacks. During the negotiations, Russian forces carried out another drone strike on an energy facility in Lutsk, causing blackouts in the city. Kyiv emphasizes that such terror continues uninterrupted due to the aggressor ignoring initiatives to halt fire on the energy sector.

Aviation and anti-ballistic defense

The parties agreed on steps to counter current challenges, specifically preparing new packages to reinforce Ukrainian aviation within the current month. In addition, the deployment of the European FREYJA anti-ballistic system is being accelerated, which is scheduled to become operational by the end of the year. Particular attention was paid to Moscow exploiting satellite communication issues to inflict maximum damage.

Defense licenses from Paris

Official Kyiv has received all licenses for weapon manufacturing previously promised by the French side. The teams are now working on the prompt implementation of these agreements in practice. Meeting participants praised Paris’s support in finding adequate responses to the aggressor’s actions.
