The renovated facility in Poltava region will serve up to 4,000 visitors annually
A free psychological and psychiatric care center for military personnel, veterans, and their families has opened in Kremenchuk. The facility is managed by the nationwide POVERNENNYA network, founded by Victor and Olena Pinchuk. The center is designed to serve up to 4,000 visitors annually. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Анна Шиканова), according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The center was established on the premises of a key municipal hospital in Kremenchuk, following major renovations funded by the charitable project. All areas of the facility were adapted to barrier-free standards, featuring wide doorways, inclusive restrooms, anti-slip flooring, and zero-threshold entrances.
The facility includes rooms for individual consultations and family therapy, a group therapy space, a two-bed day hospital ward, a treatment room, and a reception waiting area. A professional library of 50 specialized books was also provided for the staff.
Equipment and Medical Staff of the Center
The institution was equipped with modern psychological rehabilitation technology, including the innovative Shiftwave System for stress management, multimedia equipment, sensory support tools, psychological games, and art therapy supplies. Patients are treated by a multidisciplinary team consisting of a clinical psychologist, two psychiatrists, a psychologist, a medical psychologist, nurses, and a receptionist.
If necessary, a hospital social worker and a veteran support specialist join the care team. The staff helps patients overcome stress consequences, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depressive conditions, as well as adaptation challenges.
Medical personnel utilize evidence-based methods, including trauma-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy, conducting both outpatient and home consultations. When required, appropriate medication treatment is prescribed.
Service Features in Kremenchuk
According to Artem Chernyshov, head of the local center, the facility enables local military personnel and veterans in the Poltava region to receive specialized care close to home. The team’s comprehensive approach relies on safety, trust, and strict confidentiality.
Svitlana Grytsenko, head of the POVERNENNYA project, noted that opening such centers within state and municipal healthcare institutions represents a successful public-private partnership. The initiative aims to overcome stigma around seeking psychological help and make mental health care a standard practice.
Expansion of the Nationwide Network
Currently, the POVERNENNYA network includes 18 operating centers across Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv and Kyiv region, Kremenchuk, Kropyvnytskyi, Lutsk, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Uzhhorod, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv. Additionally, one center operates at a National Guard of Ukraine medical facility.
During the first phase of the project, the founders plan to launch at least 25 centers nationwide. This expansion is expected to provide free annual assistance to over 100,000 military members, veterans, and their family members.
