Holy images were handed over as part of the 'Military Icon' initiative
Three icons were consecrated and handed over to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The shrines were created by Ukrainian icon painters to support soldiers. This was reported by Ukrinform citing the Ukrainian Ground Forces, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The unique relics were created by domestic brush masters as part of the ‘Military Icon’ initiative. This spiritual program was launched by the ‘Antony and Feodosiy of Pechersk’ charitable foundation to strengthen the combat spirit of defenders.
Holy images for the frontline
Among the transferred shrines are icons of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, and Saint George the Victorious. They are intended for Ukrainian servicemen performing combat missions on the frontline.
Spiritual support for defenders
During the implementation of this initiative, about twenty formations of the Defense Forces of Ukraine have already received their own sacral symbols. Believing soldiers perceive such relics as a source of hope and resilience during difficult periods of combat operations.
