Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has called for decisive action from the international community following the UN report on record civilian casualties in July. The Foreign Minister insists on increasing sanctions and expanding air defense assistance for Ukraine. This was reported by Ukrinform citing OON, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes the need for an immediate response to the report by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. According to the document, at least 437 Ukrainians were killed and 2,610 were wounded in July as a result of actions by Russian occupiers.

The need for new security decisions

Andrii Sybiha noted that the increase in civilian death tolls is directly linked to the aggression of the rf. Due to a lack of success on the front lines, Moscow is escalating terrorist strikes using missiles, guided aerial bombs, and drones.

“Behind this increase in the number of civilian deaths stands one name: Russia,” stated Andrii Sybiha. The Foreign Minister stressed that the world must move from expressing concern to taking real steps that will change the strategic situation.

Responsibility and the price of war

Among the key measures, the head of the diplomatic department highlighted strengthening the air defense system and increasing sanctions pressure. He added that the aggressor’s responsibility for these crimes is inevitable.

Andrii Sybiha warned the Russian leadership, emphasizing that terror against civilians does not bring the rf closer to its war goals. Instead, it only increases the cost of the aggression for Moscow.
