Consequences of the Russian attack on Chernihivska metro station in Kyiv on October 19

Due to infrastructure damage, traffic on the red metro line is limited to Darnytsia station

On October 19, Russian troops carried out an attack on Kyiv, which led to damage to the Chernihivska metro station and surrounding commercial infrastructure. The above-ground section of the red metro line has been temporarily suspended, and public transport routes have been adjusted. This was reported by UA.NEWS, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

As a result of the enemy shelling on October 19, significant destruction occurred at objects located near the Chernihivska metro station. Specifically, retail spaces, including pharmacies and shops, sustained damage.

Due to critical damage to the above-ground infrastructure and tracks, the red metro line in the capital is currently restricted. Train passenger services are operating exclusively on the section between Akademmistechko and Darnytsia stations.

Chernihivska and Lisova stations are currently closed to passengers for both entry and exit. Information regarding the restoration of the full train schedule on this line will be released after inspections and repair work are completed.

Additionally, the incident forced changes to four trolleybus routes in Kyiv. To ensure residents’ mobility, municipal authorities have decided to increase the number of buses operating in the affected area.
