Over 60 defence enterprises join Defence City special regime

Combined qualified revenue of all residents reaches UAH 111.3 billion

The number of residents in the Defence City special legal regime has expanded to 63 Ukrainian defence industry enterprises. This marks a more than twofold increase in program participants compared to May, when there were 31 residents. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine continues to expand the circle of companies benefiting from the special state support regime. Back in July, the number of residents stood at 45, and currently, 63 manufacturers have joined the initiative.

Financial indicators and state incentives

The total qualified revenue of all participating companies from the sale of weapons and military equipment has reached almost UAH 111.3 billion. The state program is designed to provide manufacturers with opportunities to invest in their own development, protect teams, and scale production capacities.

“Defence City is a systemic tool for the development of the Ukrainian defence industry. We create conditions for manufacturers that allow them to invest in their own development, protect teams and production facilities, scale up production faster, and develop international cooperation,” stated Hanna Hvozdyar, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

The special regime provides participants with tax and customs incentives, as well as opportunities for enterprise relocation and enhanced facility protection. Additionally, companies gain access to renting state property without auctions, simplified export procedures, and restricted access to sensitive information about them in public registries.

Procedure for acquiring resident status

To join the program, an enterprise must verify its compliance with the criteria established by law and submit an application along with the required package of documents to the ministry.

The review of submitted documents takes place within 10 working days. If a positive decision is made, resident status is finalized by an order of the Ministry of Defence, after which information about the company is entered into the official register.
