Russian forces struck a Naftogaz facility in Ukraine’s Lviv region, forcing a halt to technological processes at the site. This was reported by RegioNews, citing Naftogaz, as relayed by the PromPolitInform portal.
“Today, January 27, Russia attacked a critical infrastructure facility of the Naftogaz Group in western Ukraine. The strike caused a fire,” the company said in a statement.
According to Naftogaz, for safety reasons — to protect personnel and prevent environmental contamination — company specialists immediately suspended all technological operations at the facility.
Emergency crews from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) are working at the scene.
This marks the 15th targeted attack on Naftogaz facilities since the beginning of the month.
As previously reported, on the morning of January 27, Russian forces attacked the city of Brody in the Lviv region. Due to heavy smoke, the city was blanketed in smog and an unpleasant odor was reported. Classes in local schools were canceled.
