On the night of Sunday, August 9, the Russian occupation forces fired 11 missiles and 100 strike drones, including jets, as well as six “Banderol” loitering munitions at Odessa. The Russian army has not paid such “attention” to this settlement for a long time, said Dmitry Pletenchuk, spokesman for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the air of a telethon. He emphasized that the occupiers not only attacked the energy sector, but also hit the port infrastructure.
According to him, the Russian Federation may present a massive attack on the city to its citizens as an alleged “strike on military facilities or cargo.”
The head of the Odessa regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, reported that the number of victims in Odessa had increased to 12.
Parts of the Khadzhibeysky, Peresypsky and Primorsky districts of the city were left without electricity.
In the Odessa region, traffic on the Odesa-Reni highway was temporarily restricted. In this regard, cars cannot move to some checkpoints on the border with Moldova.
