Ukraine has reached an agreement with the Netherlands to expand its drone fleet, according to Mikhail Fedorov

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the expansion of the “Drone Line” project with support from the Netherlands, according to Apostrophe, as reported by the PromPolitInform portal.

The agreement was reached during a meeting with Dutch Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Dylan Yesilgoz-Zegerius. The parties agreed to attract additional resources to scale up the initiative.

Today, “Drone Line” comprises over 1,000 crews, which, according to the minister, killed every third Russian soldier on the front in January and February. Fedorov noted that the department’s goal is to develop the UAV component of the corps: funding for the creation of drone regiments has already begun, and this experience is being extended to all corps of the Armed Forces.

According to the data released, in January, Russian army losses exceeded the number of mobilized personnel, and in some sectors of the front, the enemy was losing up to 170 soldiers for every kilometer advanced. According to the minister, the 50,000 enemy casualties per month target is part of Ukraine’s war plan, implemented through a combination of the “Drone Line,” drone regiment activities, and the UAV brigade basic support program.

Furthermore, during the talks, the parties discussed support for the F-16 program, countering Russia’s “shadow fleet,” radar field development, and the supply of long-range artillery ammunition.

Fedorov thanked the Netherlands for its leadership and systemic assistance, particularly for its decision to transfer PAC-3 missiles and funding the PURL program. Ukraine also expressed its readiness to provide partners with access to its defense innovations and to work on creating a permanent mechanism for data and technology exchange.

As a reminder, newly appointed Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen and Defense Minister Dilan Yesilgoz-Zegeriu arrived in Ukraine on Saturday, February 28, for their first post-appointment visit.
