During the entire full-scale war, Ukraine received about 600 missiles to Patriot systems. In the Middle East, more was used in a few days than Ukraine had in all the years of the war.
This was in a comment to The New York Times said adviser to President Vladimir Zelensky on communications Dmitry Litvin, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
According to Lytvyn, during all four years of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Kyiv received only about 600 missiles to Patriot systems.
At the beginning of the invasion, Ukraine sometimes used expensive missiles or even more expensive Patriot interceptors to destroy shahed drones. However, this practice quickly turned out to be financially unjustified: one “shahed” costs about $50,000, while the American rocket to Patriot – more than $3 million.
In this regard, Ukraine was able to adapt the defense, using heavy machine guns, cheaper F-16 missiles, electronic jammers and its own interceptor drones against the “shaheds.” This allows you to effectively counteract attacks without significant financial losses.
