The Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing a new system of contracts, a mechanism for dismissing military personnel during the war, and changes in financial support. The General Staff also plans to introduce a rotation system, under which military personnel will not be in positions for more than two months without replacement. This is reported by “Holovne in UA“, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky said in an interview with “Military” that the army is preparing a new system of contracts and a mechanism for dismissing military personnel during the war. According to him, this is not about demobilization, but about the possibility of dismissal from service with subsequent deferment.
Syrsky reported that several types of contracts are currently being discussed. In particular, short contracts for 6–9 months are planned to be introduced for servicemen who were discharged on health grounds after being injured but want to return to service. Contracts for 10 months are envisaged for active servicemen, and for recruits for 2–3 years.
The Commander-in-Chief also stated that the minimum financial support in the army is planned to be set at 30 thousand hryvnias. The largest additional payments are to be received by servicemen who directly participate in combat operations – attack aircraft, mechanized units, paratroopers and marines.
According to Syrsky, a new model of contracts and financial support is planned to be approved by the end of May.
Separately, he announced the intention to introduce a rotation system, under which servicemen will not be in positions for more than two months without replacement. Syrsky emphasized that rotation in modern conditions is actually a separate military operation due to the activity of drones, complex logistics and the constant threat of strikes.
According to the General Staff, after two months of continuous deployment, the military begins to lose combat effectiveness due to physical and moral fatigue.
