Poland declassified data on military aid to Ukraine: what equipment is on the list

Poland has announced lists of military aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, with a total value of 16.45 billion zlotys (about 3.87 billion euros). In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine received tanks, artillery, MiG-29 aircraft and PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot system from Warsaw. The relevant data was published by Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, writes the local publication RMF24. This is reported by Slovo i Dilo, the PromPolitInform portal reports.

“Today, the process of declassifying donations has begun. Later I will be able to provide all the exact data, but now there is a lot of valuable information. We are doing this not because we were “caught,” but because we are proud of this assistance,” Kosiniak-Kamysz said.

He stressed that assistance to Ukraine is a “strategic task arising from the state interest of the Republic of Poland.”

As noted, the largest amounts of Polish military assistance to Ukraine were approved in 2022−2023, namely during the rule of the Law and Justice party. Their estimated cost is about PLN 15 billion.

At the same time, during 2024−2026, Poland transferred PLN 1.55 billion (about EUR 365 million) in assistance to Ukraine, which is 9.4% of the total.

Among other things, Poland transferred to Ukraine T-72, PT-91 and Leopard 2A4 tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, MiG-29 fighters, Mi-24 helicopters, rocket launchers, as well as tank, artillery and mortar ammunition.

Kosyniak-Kamysz stated that Poland’s military assistance to Ukraine is carried out in three main areas: the transfer of military equipment and weapons, training of Ukrainian military personnel, and continuing work on the creation of a logistics center (in particular, based on the Rzeszów-Jasenko airport).

According to the Polish government, in general, the transferred equipment included:

MiG-29 aircraft;

Mi-24 helicopters;

WEGA S-200 anti-aircraft missile system;

NEWA S-125SC launchers;

ZSU-23-4 (Shilka) and ZSU-23-2 anti-aircraft systems;

GROT, PKM, AKMS and SVD rifles;

missiles for KUB systems;

OSA complexes with missiles.

According to the Polish minister, the transferred weapons in 2022-2023 included, in particular:

T-72, PT-91 and Leopard 2A4 tanks;

Rosomak, BRDM and BWP-1 armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles;

artillery equipment: AHS Krab, 2S1 Goździk;

BM-21;

120 mm and 60 mm mortars;

Warmate and FlyEye drones.

At the same time, among the means transferred to Ukraine since the beginning of 2024, Kosyniak-Kamysh named:

PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot system;

Scan Eagle unmanned complex;

missile weapons;

aviation bombs;

anti-tank guided missiles;

grenade launcher ammunition;

equipment, equipment and spare parts for aviation and armored vehicles, for NEWA anti-aircraft systems;

tank, artillery and mortar ammunition;

individual equipment for military personnel.

Kosyniak-Kamysz also added that Poland transferred weapons to Ukraine after consultations with the General Staff, without exceeding the capabilities of its own army.

“At the request of the NATO Secretary General and the US European Command, a decision was made to transfer Patriot missiles. The quantity being transferred is within our capabilities,” the Minister of National Defense said.

As is known, on July 6, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed the transfer of missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine to protect against Russian attacks, after information about alleged secret deliveries of weapons.

Recall that Kosiniak-Kamysh recently stated that Poland would declassify the list of military assistance provided to Ukraine in 2022-2026 since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

Before that, Poland announced the possible transfer of interceptor missiles to Ukraine for the American Patriot air defense systems. At the same time, the country’s Ministry of Defense did not confirm this information at the time, noting that the details of the military assistance were classified.

And recently, the spokesman for the Polish President, Rafal Leskiewicz, sharply criticized the decision to publish data on assistance to Ukraine.

Also, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced negotiations with the ministers of countries that have Patriot missiles.
