Since the morning of July 17, Russian troops have been massively attacking Naftogaz production facilities in the Kharkiv, Poltava and Sumy regions. The occupiers are using various types of drones, including jets, for strikes. As NV writes, this was reported on Friday, July 17, by the acting chairman of the board of Naftogaz NJSC Serhiy Fedorenko. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
According to him, as a result of the attacks, fires broke out at several facilities, and significant damage was also recorded. The employees of the enterprises were not injured – thanks to early security measures, they were in shelters.
Fedorenko noted that due to the risk of repeated strikes, it is currently impossible to fully assess the extent of damage to the equipment. The work of the attacked facilities has been temporarily suspended.
He stressed that Russia is systematically attacking Ukraine’s oil and gas infrastructure, trying to reduce gas production and complicate the country’s preparation for the heating season.
“The enemy’s goal is obvious – to destroy our gas production, complicate preparations for winter and create problems during the heating season,” the head of the company said.
Fedorenko also reported that the Supervisory Board has appointed him acting chairman of the board of Naftogaz. He noted that the company’s main tasks remain to ensure the necessary gas reserves, promptly restore damaged facilities, fulfill agreements with international partners and maintain the pace of the company’s work.
“I understand all the challenges facing the company. We will make every effort to ensure that the country is supplied with gas and that preparations for winter proceed smoothly, despite all the enemy’s attempts to prevent this,” the post says.
On July 16, former Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine Serhiy Koretsky was appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine.
As reported, at the first meeting between Zelensky and Koretsky, the President and Prime Minister discussed the appointment of acting Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense.
