Ukrainian company Swarmer acquires stake in American air defense manufacturer Vectus

Ukrainian defense-tech developer Swarmer has become a partner and shareholder of the new American company Vectus Air Defense Systems. The company, led by Erik Prince, specializes in creating air and drone defense systems.

This was reported by Delo.ua citing Axios, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The domestic defense-tech company Swarmer has acquired a 20% stake in the newly formed American firm Vectus Air Defense Systems. The project is led by Erik Prince, known as the founder of the private military company Blackwater.

Features of the Vectus business model

Vectus is implementing a “defense-as-a-service” concept, which provides a full lifecycle of security for its clients. The company will be responsible not only for supplying equipment but also for its deployment at facilities and subsequent technical maintenance.

Critical infrastructure will be protected using integrated solutions. These will include electronic warfare systems, artillery, and interceptor drones, with components sourced from Ukraine, the US, Israel, and other partner nations.

The role of the Ukrainian side in joint developments

Swarmer will participate in the creation of technological solutions for countering drones. Specifically, this involves refining target detection systems and software for coordinating drone swarms.

It is worth recalling that in March 2026, Swarmer completed an initial public offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq exchange. This was a historic step for the Ukrainian defense ecosystem, as the developer became its first representative on the American financial market.
