There are no plans in Ukraine to introduce compulsory mobilization for women, as they serve exclusively on a voluntary basis. This statement was made by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, following remarks by US special envoy Keith Kellogg.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Анастасія Никончук), according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The head of the CCD, Andriy Kovalenko, officially rejected the possibility of conscripting Ukrainian women into the military on a mandatory basis. According to him, there are currently no legislative or administrative decisions being prepared regarding such an initiative.
Reaction to the statement by the American official
The clarification was prompted by the opinion of US presidential special envoy Keith Kellogg, who advocated for the necessity of military conscription for women. He justified his position by citing his personal experience and the example of his own family members who are currently serving.
In response, Andriy Kovalenko noted that such discussions are actively exploited by Russian propaganda outlets to disseminate distorted information. The official emphasized that voluntary participation of women in the Defense Forces remains the only relevant format.
Previously, the issue of mandatory conscription for women without children was raised through a petition on the government portal. At that time, the Center for Countering Disinformation under the NSDC also stressed the lack of such intentions on the part of the state authorities.
