Bus traffic toward the Russian capital on the M8 highway has been completely halted
On the night of August 28, several regions of the Russian Federation came under a drone attack. Yaroslavl, Vladimir, and Ivanovo regions, as well as the Moscow region, declared a high-alert regime. Traffic was restricted and public transport routes were altered following the incidents. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of ASTRA, based on data from Mikhail Yevrayev.
Mikhail Yevrayev, the governor of Yaroslavl region, confirmed the presence of drones in the area and reported road restrictions. Traffic heading toward Moscow was temporarily blocked, forcing adjustments to local public transit routes.
Buses traveling along Moskovsky Avenue were rerouted via Suzdalskoye Highway and Kalinina Street. Intercity bus services on the blocked section of the M8 highway were completely suspended, with vehicles held at the local bus station.
Air Raid Consequences and Moscow Situation
Although local authorities provided no official details on specific targets hit in Yaroslavl, residents posted photos online showing the impact. Shattered windows were visible in several residential buildings across the city.
Meanwhile, officials in the Russian capital reported incoming drones. Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that two UAVs flying toward Moscow were destroyed by air defence forces of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, thick black smoke was seen rising over Pavlovsky Posad in the Moscow region. Emergency crews were dispatched to the sites where debris crashed down.
Red Alert Issued Across Regions
The high-threat level was extended to neighboring administrative units of Russia. A red threat level was declared across Vladimir and Ivanovo regions.
Similar emergency security measures were introduced in the south-eastern parts of the Moscow region. Local infrastructure monitoring and air defense operations remain active in affected zones.
